Expert instructors (or “instructor)
Selected industry practitioner or faculty member who teaches an online synchronous class or called "Instructor-led Training" (ILT).
Advisor
Selected industry practitioner or faculty member who advises a capstone project team and/or incubation team based on their experience in tech, business, project management, and other fields of expertise.
Guest Speaker
An expert who shares knowledge, insight, and inspiration by teaching tech skills (Machine Learning, Mobile Development, Cloud Computing), soft skills, career and personal development, among others.
Each role needs to commit minimum time as follow
Mentor: minimum of 6 - 7 hours per week
Expert instructor (or”instructor): minimum of 2 hours for 4 sessions (total 8 hours)
Advisor: minimum of 30 mins for 10 sessions (total 5 hours)
Guest speaker: minimum of 2 hours per sessions
Note: we respect yours and students’ time off, so we try to have no activity on Saturday, and strictly no activity on Sunday & public holiday.
Although new, the role of the Mentor is necessary to ensure a higher graduation rate and better community support group for Bangkit 2023. Therefore, we prepare a set of benefits for well-performing contributors as follows:
Allowance sufficient to cover your internet and electricity. (Amount is still to be confirmed as it is subject to Dikti’s approval). However this allowance is optional and customizable. You may opt out (if needed) and swap it to other benefits.
Bangkit-branded merchandise or gift cards
Free access to a range of new classes in Dicoding and Coursera. (Detailed topics will be informed later)
Networking opportunities with industry practitioners from the same learning path as yours.
Written recognition: certificate and recognition letter

Bangkit is a safe place to learn. So, both students and contributors must follow Bangkit’s Code of Conduct.

If a contributor does not adhere to point 1-4 above, Bangkit team will send a written notice through email.
Yes, you need to.
As a Mentor, you should have a “graduate” status from Bangkit because you act as buddies/role model/good reference for students.
As an instructor and Advisor roles, it is required that you have relevant experience in the learning path and topics you will be teaching or mentoring. Having industry experience(s) or Google certification(s) - Tensorflow Developer Certification, Associate Android Developer, Associate Cloud Engineer) is a plus and highly desired.
Lead and assist a cohort of 25 students from the same learning path as yours.
Provide consultative support to study together and support each other.
Overall, provide a supportive learning environment that will lead to a higher graduation rate among your students, at a minimum of 85%.
As a buddy, you will need to allocate 6 - 7 hours per week on weekdays.
Selected contributors who teach student cohorts in a synchronous session. The lecture consists of reviewing materials learned in self-paced classes, sharing real-life experience related to the subject, and encouraging students to actively take part in the class.
Expert instructors will help students to understand all required classes to complete Bangkit. Instructors lead sessions in Tech (Cloud, Android, Machine Learning) and/or Career Development / Soft Skills.
Selected contributors who advise a capstone project team about their project. They help students to complete their project by giving them some insights on project design, problem-solving, among others. They may share expertise on tech (Cloud, Android, Machine Learning), business, project management and other topics.
After hundreds of teams submitted their working product, the top 15 will be selected by a panel of judges. They will be given a chance to join an incubation project in which they will get funding from Google and Dikti to further their innovation into a go-to-market product in a maximum 6 months period (July - December) under the supervision of the host university.
In light of this initiative, an industry mentor is selected contributors who assist the incubation team to implement their project proposal. They will work closely with each team to guide, advise, and coach, based on their expertise in real-life, such as on tech (Cloud, Android, Machine Learning), Business, Project Management and others.
Selected contributors who share their expertise, inspiration, and knowledge on tech, soft skills, career, personal development, among others. They give insiders’ views from the industry or university about materials students need to learn, prepare and practice working on.
You must inform Bangkit teams at least one week before the schedule by email contribute@bangkit.academy. Each contributor can only make 1 (one) reschedule with a clear reason. If you do not meet the minimum threshold of commitment, unfortunately your reward will be adjusted as well.
